WHAT DO PARENTS SAY AFTER RESPITE?
After July 2012 Respite!!!Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your time and dedication. Because of your respite program, I am able to leave my daughter (Jessica) and my foster children in a safe, fun, loving and secure place while I have some time to myself or with my husband.
Because of Jessica's unique disabilities, it is very hard and most often, impossible to find adequate care for her. She has Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. She is deaf and non-verbal. Jessica is not comfortable being left in the care of most people, but at the once a month Treasures of Joy Respite, she is very happy. When I return to pick her up, she is always actively involved in activities and smiling.
I took up the ministry of fostering over 20 years ago. I have fostered over 35 children and for the first time since I started fostering, I feel I truly have the support of a group of people in fostering and raising my biological daughter. Most activities that I can take my foster children to, Jessica can't go to and visa versa. With the respite program all the children are welcome and treated to a wonderful evening.
The Treasures of Joy respite program has meant a lot to my whole family. We all look forward to it each month. Thanks for being so loving and accepting of all my kids and all their quirks. Because of your love and dedication, I am able to have a block of time each month to just relax and take care of myself, knowing that my children are being well cared for and having a great time.
Thank you,
Brenda Harris.

“Joyce has a heart for Special Needs Ministry. She has dedicated her life to the service of families, children, and Adults with Special Needs. She has ministered to my family by providing a respite night for over a year. And She is a great friend who understands the heart of this ministry.” June 29, 2012
Cynda Mayfield - September 2012
I just wanted to say Thank You for taking care of Alex this past Saturday. He seemed to enjoy it and found a few new friends. I'm sure he can hardly wait to come back.
Thank You So Much!
