Robert and JOYce Weatherford
My husband and I are the parents of James, a 27-year old with kidney failure, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, and other special needs. Our journey over the last 39 years has not been easy and we know your journey is not easy either. We were very blessed to share our journey with our parents and my Mom is still sharing the journey with us. However, as we left our "safety net/deserted island" called home, we found there were so many families just like ours trying to walk this life. We found it is much easier to walk through life with friends who understand, as well as family and friends who come along beside us to offer resources, direct us in new directions, take time just to fellowship, and to pray with us and for us.
Bob, Mom, and I have learned that we are a special needs family but our life is no different from any other family; we all have our struggles - ours are just different. My experience is that when others get to know our family they become less "afraid" of the disability and more willing to accept us as just "one of the crowd". We know there are many different disabilities in this world; physical, mental, and even hidden.
Hence, Treasures of JOY, because to our family each child or adult with a disability/special need is a treasure from God, not a burden. James has brought much JOY to our lives and we want to meet your Treasure, add to our JOY, and give the gift of JOY to your family in any way we can. I look forward to meeting you and your Treasure soon.
JOY in CHRIST,
JOYce Weatherford

was with another company when working with you
“Any new advocacy initiative, if it is to be successful, requires a leader with experience, both in depth and length, plus the personal committment to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to achieve a stated goal. It's my belief that Joyce has those traits, plus the contacts, to make whatever endeavor she chooses a success. I am an enthusiastic supporter and wish her well on her new effort at Unexpected Treasures. Steve Rhatigan” April 9, 2011

“Joyce's passion to assist the disabled families in our community is a blessing. Our community is in great need of organizations like Treasures of Joy. My husband and I decided to offer our time as volunteers because of the great happiness and confidence we saw in our own daughter, Ashley. She joined the Special Olympics Bowliing team, run by Joyce a couple of years ago. Now she is involved in Game Nite and Golf. Thanks again Joyce for your great program!” June 26, 2012
Rudy & Aide Luiz, Parents who receive Respite
We are the ones that are honored with such an open and loving program. These special beings need to be included on this earth. Praise God that He came. He died. He rose. And He is coming again, In Yeshua Name. Amen.
You are a very special lady to take such gracious, loving, and unselfish step. Thank you for trusting and obeying our Father God, In Yeshua Name. Amen. Amen.
Praise the Lord!!!!
